Decathlon launched its first free-standing hypermarket next to the Mega Parnas shopping center. Sports are reaching for mega With football and shooting

Closes a deal for the sale of its 2.96 hectare land plot, located in Bugry, next to the Mega-IKEA complex. The site was purchased by the international retail chain Decathlon for the construction of a sporting goods hypermarket.

The developer of the site was the Hansa Group, whose tasks included comprehensive engineering support for the site and adjacent territory, design and approval of the access road. Technical specifications for electricity, gas, water supply and drainage have been received, and the necessary engineering networks are being designed. Full engineering preparation of the site will be completed by October 31, 2015, which will allow the construction of the hypermarket to be completed and put into operation by December 31, 2015.

On the territory of the land plot near the one-story Decathlon shopping center there will be a free sports ground, which can be used as a football field in the summer, and as a skating rink in the winter. The total area of the building will be 4,723.0 m2.

Decathlon Parnas will be the company's first free-standing store in St. Petersburg. It is planned to open several more similar facilities in various areas of the city.

Oleg Barkov, General Director of the Hansa Group:

“It was a very complex deal, with a lot of conditions that had to be fulfilled on our part. Despite the favorable location of the site, there were serious problems with the engineering infrastructure. It was simply missing, and the nearest available connection points were located far away. Now all formal problems have been resolved, the necessary technical conditions have been obtained.

The active development of our and neighboring areas was hampered by the lack of utilities. The enormous work on connecting the backbone networks carried out by HANSA GROUP and the construction of the Decathlon hypermarket will give impetus to the active development of the entire surrounding area. We also hope to quickly close the sale of neighboring land plots that we own.”

Sports retailer Decathlon has built its first free-standing store in Parnassus. The company wants to open four more such stores by the end of 2019. "Business Petersburg" writes about this.

This week, a free-standing Decathlon store with a total area of 4,800 square meters next to MEGA Parnas begins operating. This is the first store that the company built on its own site (area - 3 hectares) from scratch. The volume of investments in construction and launch exceeded 500 million rubles. By the end of 2019, Decathlon plans to build four more such hypermarkets, said Ivan Snegur, head of the Decathlon-Parnas project. It is planned to open 11 stores by 2022. The company's store in the Kitay-Gorod shopping center on Vyborgskoye Shosse closed its operations on February 25. In total, there are four stores of the chain in St. Petersburg, the hypermarket on Parnas will be the fifth.

The Decathlon network in Russia has 54 stores; by 2025, the company wants to increase the network to 120 stores - both free-standing and as part of shopping malls. 10 discoveries are planned for 2018 in Russia (including the Parnassus project). “By implementing development projects from scratch on our own land plots, we use the facility as efficiently as possible, plan the ideal concept for the location of the sales area with the possibility of expansion in the future,” says Yulia Goroshchenya, director of the development department at Decathlon Russia. Thus, the Decathlon store on Parnassus has test areas where products can be tried before purchasing - for example, playing table tennis, ball, archery, etc. Next to the store there are public sports grounds for football and basketball.

The Decathlon hypermarket with a total area of 4800 sq.m is located on an area of 3 hectares. The company invested over 500 million rubles in the construction and launch of the project. In the next two years, the networker plans to build four more such hypermarkets in St. Petersburg, and by the end of 2022 there will already be 11 of them. So far, there are four Decathlon stores in the city.

“By implementing development projects from scratch on our sites, we use the facility as efficiently as possible, we are planning the concept of a retail space with the possibility of expansion in the future,” Yulia Goroshchenya, director of the development department of Decathlon Russia, told Business Petersburg. Experts were skeptical about the idea of developing sports hypermarkets in free-standing buildings. They find it more effective to place them in shopping malls, along with other “anchors”, for example, a grocery store and a home goods hypermarket.
