  • paper;
  • plastic cup.

Accordingly, different processing techniques are used:

  • Weaving.
  • Sewing.

  • Stained glass.
  • Quilling.

It is worth noting that the completed souvenir can be either completely voluminous, embossed or flat. All decorations will take their rightful place on the Christmas tree or other place in the festive interior.

Materials and tools

If you decide to make New Year's bells with your own hands in different techniques, then the set necessary funds you will need a different one. The list, organized by group, is presented below.

To sew a souvenir, prepare this:

  • textile;
  • patterns;
  • pins;
  • scissors;
  • threads with a needle;
  • sewing machine

For the decoupage technique you will need the following:

  • The base is made of papier-mâché or a plastic cup.
  • Primer (acrylic white).
  • Sponge (sponge).
  • Napkins with thematic designs, or decoupage cards.
  • Brush.
  • Acrylic paints for applying additional patterns.
  • Stencils (optional).
  • Transparent varnish.

For beading you only need to prepare:

  • beads;
  • fishing line or wire;
  • thin needle.

To work with paper you need:

  • pencil;
  • designer decorative sheets;
  • scissors;
  • glue.

To knit a bell, just take a hook and yarn of the corresponding numbers. For quilling, in addition to the listed tools for processing paper and the sheets themselves, you will need a cutter (it is more convenient for them to prepare even, identical strips) and a torsion device (special or improvised, such as a toothpick or knitting needle).

The same additional decor can be used for all methods:

  • satin ribbons;
  • bows;
  • beads;
  • sequins;
  • tinsel;
  • snowflakes, paper stars made with a figured hole punch.

Papier-mâché or plastic cup decoration

A New Year's toy (a bell or a whole garland of them) can be made using an existing base or from scratch. Most often, ordinary plastic disposable cups are used as a blank. They have a similar shape and are easy to decorate in different ways.

If you do not have the required quantity of plastic containers, you can use an alternative method - make blanks from papier-mâché. The point of the work is that small pieces of thin paper prepared in advance are glued onto the existing form (you will definitely have one glass or a purchased bell) in layers, with the previous layer having been pre-dried. Regular office sheets, magazine sheets and even newspaper sheets will do. For gluing, you can use PVA or prepared paste. The base should be pre-wrapped cling film, so that the made “shell” is easier to remove.

Sew a toy

New Year's bells It’s easy to make with your own hands from leftover fabric that every needlewoman has in her closet. The product can be double-sided and fully voluminous. For the first option, the pattern will simply be the shape of a bell; in the second case, several parts will be required for the bottom, side surface and top. You can develop templates yourself. The sewing process itself is not particularly difficult:

  1. The parts are sewn together on the wrong side, leaving a hole for turning inside out.
  2. Afterwards this operation is performed directly.
  3. The resulting form is filled with holofiber or other material.
  4. The hole is sutured.
  5. The souvenir is decorated.

New Year's bell made of beads

Such a souvenir can be either flat or voluminous. Usually they do the second option. It looks much more impressive. Both openwork and continuous weaving are used.

The simplest option is done like this:

  1. Make a triangle out of wire by first collecting, for example, 12 beads, and in the last row only 2 (it all depends on the number of rows and, accordingly, the size of the bell).
  2. Continue making the same shape on the same wire only in reverse direction(mirror), starting with 2 beads and ending with 12.
  3. Bend the resulting “bow” in half.
  4. Weave the sides into one piece.

From several such blanks, connected into a single whole, you will get a more voluminous bell. Complex options, openwork and patterned, are woven in a circle using special patterns.

Crochet New Year's bells

Such products can be, just like beaded ones, solid or openwork. The latter look much more attractive. Knitting is done in a circle - from the top of the bell, where the tongue and pendant are attached, downwards.

The shape is obtained by evenly distributing additional loops and cuts throughout the ring. Openwork decorations should be knitted according to a special pattern with careful counting of the pattern loops.

As you can see, you can make New Year's bells with your own hands in different ways. WITH simple options even a child can handle it. Complex but beautiful ones will require the help of an adult. In a word, there are opportunities for creativity for everyone: for those who love to sew, knit, weave with beads, do decoupage, stained glass or appliqué.

It is better to prepare for the New Year in advance. Make your own bells for the New Year tree - good idea. Even in the writings of ancient authors, the ability of bells to ward off evil forces was reflected. There are many options for making bells from scrap materials. We have selected the most original of them.

We will need:

  • Bandage or gauze.
  • Eggshell.
  • PVA glue.
  • Brush.
  • Paints (including gold).
  • Putty, beads, semolina (optional).

Manufacturing method No. 1

Take the shell and bandage. We glue the bandage “overlapping” with PVA glue.

We strengthen our bell, it should dry well.

Prime with white paint so that the shell does not show through. When the bandage is dry, cut out the petals with scissors.

Make a hole at the top with a sharp object. The hole is needed for the lace. Glue the husk on top and paint it.

The bells are painted with Easter dyes + watercolors. The leaves of the bells can be safely bent back.

Manufacturing method No. 2

We take the shell, bandage and PVA glue. We glue the shell inside. This is also a way to strengthen the shell. Let it dry on the battery. Then we cover the outside with white paint.

We cut off everything unnecessary using scissors. Easy to cut.

Afterwards we apply putty and you can paint it with a pattern. Let it dry. We paint and go over the bulges with gold paint. Make a hole at the top for the lace.

You can decorate the top with beads, you can make a “spraying” of semolina. Coat the top with a brush with glue and sprinkle with semolina. Let's use our imagination and make a toy.

For 1 bell you will need:

  1. Expanded polystyrene or cardboard (cone, mini size).
  2. Yarn or twine.
  3. Felt.
  4. Palettes.
  5. Decorations.

Tools:

  1. Universal glue.
  2. Scissors.
  3. Needle.
  4. Tweezers.

We will need:

  1. Plastic cups.
  2. Branch of an artificial Christmas tree.
  3. Spray paint.
  4. Glue.
  5. Beads.
  6. Ribbons.
  7. A piece of lace.

Take two plastic cups (you can use yogurt cups). We spray paint the cups and spruce twig. The color can be any: golden, silver, bright red.

While the cups are drying, prepare the decoration. You can cut flowers from lace and guipure. We sew beads into the middle.

We coat the flowers with glue and attach them to the bell.

We wrap the edges with yarn.

We take a beautiful ribbon, gather it in the middle with a thread and a needle and make a lush bow.

We fasten the bow with a needle and thread. We hang it on the tree or glue the bells together at an angle, glue it to spruce branch and hang it on the wall using tape.

Baby penguin, sheep and chicken made from napkins

Admire what large crafts - toys for city Christmas tree - can be done with the skillful hands of a mother and daughter.

“I, Pavlova Elena Vladimirovna , I work in kindergarten teacher Every year, our children make crafts to decorate the city Christmas tree. They did this work with their daughter Polina, she is 6 years old. I saw the idea for the craft on the Internet, but there was no description of the work there. We came up with everything ourselves during the work process. The result delighted everyone! We present to your attention our " Baby Penguin«.

To make such toys for the city Christmas tree you will need:

  • napkins of different colors,
  • stapler,
  • balloon,
  • thick threads,
  • PVA glue and “Moment”,
  • colored cardboard,
  • satin ribbon.

Work progress:

We fold several napkins together (3-4), fasten them with a stapler in the center, cut out a circle, and using the crease method towards the center, crumple each layer of napkins. It turns out to be a flower. (You can also watch a master class on colors made from napkins).

You need to make a lot of these flowers. We used: 6 packs of 100 sheet napkins blue color and 3 packs of white.

We previously prepared the basis for the craft: we inflated the air balloon, wrapped it woolen threads with PVA glue. Let it dry thoroughly.

We pasted the ball with our flowers, giving the shape of a blue back and a white tummy (we used Moment universal glue).

Then we supplemented the craft with elements made from colored cardboard: eyes, beak, wings, legs. So that our “little penguin” could be hung on the Christmas tree, we attached a ribbon to him, tying it to the tail of the ball, which we left at the top.

Now our little penguin is on the city Christmas tree!

We were so fascinated by the work that we also made a cute sheep and her friend - a chicken - a symbol of care and motherhood.”

Thanks to Elena and Polina for the wonderful toys for the city Christmas tree.

Decoupage(from the French découper - “to cut out”) is a way of decorating objects by gluing on them various motifs or images cut out of paper and suitable to the artist’s artistic intent. Using the decoupage technique, you can create things of stunning beauty! It could be something completely new - for example, a New Year's toy in the form of a bell made from a plastic bottle. Having created such a thing yourself, you can present it to friends and family as an interesting gift.

Materials and tools

1. Preparing the mold for the toy

From any plastic bottle (carbonated drink, milk, etc.) we cut off the top part about 14-15 cm long with scissors.

2. Preparing the surface for decoupage.

It is better to degrease the surface of the bottle before starting work. Simply wipe with a cloth or napkin, sprinkling the surface with any alcohol-containing substance (both vodka and glass washing liquid are suitable). After this, apply acrylic primer in two layers. After applying each layer, dry thoroughly. You can speed up this process with a hair dryer.

The first layer of primer can be applied with a wide flat brush, and the second layer can be applied using tamping movements with a regular dishwashing sponge. After drying, the primer can be sanded with sandpaper, after which another layer of primer can be applied, so we will achieve greater smoothness.

3.Coloring with background color.

After the primer has dried, we cover our form with acrylic paint of the background color (our color is blue). Apply two layers, allowing each layer to dry.

4.Preparing napkins.

We cut out the desired motifs from decoupage napkins. Separate the excess layers of paper.

Pay attention! Typically, napkins for decoupage are two- or three-layer. For gluing, we only need the topmost, colorful layer of the napkin.

5. Gluing the napkin.

We apply the top layer of the napkin to the place where, according to our plan, the design should be located and coat the top with decoupage glue from the center to the edges. Let it dry. The glue saturates the napkin and the image is firmly fixed on the jar.

Pay attention! This gluing method, the simplest, is suitable for decorating small surfaces and gluing small design elements. For gluing large surfaces, the most commonly used method is transferring a napkin to the surface through a plastic film.

6. Protective coating varnish.

To protect the surface we apply acrylic varnish.

7. Additional decor.

We dip the bottom edge of the bottle into a prepared container with boiled salt to give an edge in the form of frost.

You can make a New Year's bell out of paper with your own hands using origami, quilling, decorative corrugation, weaving, or traditional paper unfolding technologies.

From a paper cone

If you are short on time, the easiest way is to roll a paper bell into a cone, glue the tongue inside and decorate the outside of the craft with a New Year's pattern/drawing. The most popular are two options for quick-fix cone bells:

Whole

When drawing a pattern from which a New Year's paper bell will be glued together with your own hands, you need to consider:

  • to collapse a cone, a segment of a circle is needed
  • the height of the product will be slightly less than the radius of the circle being drawn
  • the diameter of the base depends on the width of the segment (usually 2/3 of the arc length)

On the outside, an ornament or pattern of snowflakes or simple geometric lines is applied to the body of the bell. To hang it, a thread is passed through the funnel, and a tongue made from a strip of paper is glued inside the body.

smart

Improved version previous version– a three-dimensional Christmas bell with an original tongue. The main differences are:

  • the tongue is formed by two threads with 2 – 3 beads at the end of each of them
  • to focus attention on this detail, a rounded cutout is created in the cone of the bell, as in the bottom photo
  • on top the craft is decorated with an oak leaf or a regular bow

The entire composition is hung on a branch of the New Year tree or attached to the walls and windows of the room. To increase the artistic value, the craft can be made from corrugated paper with your own hands in a couple of minutes.

Corrugated

Corrugation in in this case is created by shaped gluing of several blanks, rather than simply bending the sheet like an accordion, which dramatically increases the decorative value of the craft. The design technology is as follows:

  • blanks are cut out of colored paper

  • each of them is folded in half along the vertical axis of symmetry

  • then glued at the point marked with a marker from the inside (on the left in the photo)

  • all parts are glued together at three points marked with a marker on the outside (on the right in the photo)

  • the stack unfolds, at the same three points the first part is glued to the last

  • a tail is glued on top for hanging

  • from three blanks of a different color, an elegant bow is glued together, attached to the tail

If you arbitrarily increase the number of contact points on the outside/inside, you can dramatically improve the aesthetics of the perception of the bell.

Quilling method

When using this technique New Year's toys They are guaranteed to be original, but they take much more time to produce. There are several ways to arrange rolled paper strips:

Flat

In the upper part of the craft, two round serpentines are used, the rest of the body is constructed from elongated drop-shaped rolls, as in the lower figure.

Volume

For this craft you will need a long roll of very tightly rolled tape. The formation of a bell from it occurs in stages:

  • a pendant thread or decorative cord is passed through the central hole
  • the thumb is pressed into the bobbin in a smooth motion
  • an umbrella is formed, then a dome with a thickening at the bottom
  • the inner surface is treated with glue to fix the resulting shape and the pendant thread
  • after drying, decoupage is applied to the outer part
  • a bead “tongue” of the bell is attached to the bottom of the ribbon/thread

Combined

When mixing the two previous technologies, a unique craft is obtained. Drops and standard round bobbins of serpentine are glued to each other on a workpiece of the desired shape. After the glue has dried, the structure is removed from the template and hung on a ribbon.

Using origami technology

Using the glueless method, corrugated paper bells can be folded using the origami method.

To do this you need to use the following diagram:

These crafts look best in pairs, connected with textile tape.

From the scan

It’s easy enough to build New Year’s bells from ready-made patterns, which can be copied from the photos below.

This version of crafts has a simple configuration and is conveniently fixed on the surface and paws of Christmas trees.

It is made from this type of reamer.

The other option is a little more complicated because it has more petals.

In this case, a sweep of a different configuration is used.

Braided from paper tubes

If you wish and have enough time, you can weave a Christmas bell from paper tubes. For making with my own hands there are simple diagrams.

Since origami is the most complex technology, below is an introductory video on how to make a New Year's craft of this type step by step:
