How to make a lapbook with your own hands. Lapbook technology (lapbook. lapbook) and its application. Lapbook “Ladybug”

Today we will talk about how to make a labpuk with your own hands and why it is so important. I will also share with you my planner, which I always use when I make lapbooks, and tell you step by step what needs to be done.

Having once made a lapbook on their own using a template, children, as a rule, are inspired and want to make another one. But on its own topic.

And that's good. This means that everything is going right. This means that you have interested your child in lapbooking. Half the battle is done. Now the most important thing begins...

You need to learn how to create lapbooks on your child’s favorite topic. When children are passionate about something, they do it with pleasure! And, in this case, they can learn absolutely anything.

It is critically important to make lapbooks that will be of interest to the child. For the child, not for you! This is the basic principle. Unless, of course, you want to not just play, but use lapbooking for its immediate purpose - for learning.

Lapbook - simple and very interesting way knowledge: children like these mini-books, pockets, windows where they can look, touch, move elements...

Essentially, a lapbook creates spaces for interactivity. But it must be remembered that it does not create the interaction itself - it creates the space! If the space is not interesting to the child, interaction will not happen. This is obvious.

The topic of lapbooks in Russia is not yet very popular and it is often difficult to find a lapbook on the topic that you need. Therefore, it is very useful to be able to make laptops with your own hands.

If your child likes the theme of dinosaurs, then you definitely need to make a lapbook on this topic, and not just whatever comes to mind. This is the basic rule of learning using lapbooking.

The main problem that parents face when creating lapbooks is fear!

Fear that they won’t succeed... Fear that a lapbook is something very, very difficult...

In fact, if you stick to the plan, you can even make a lapbook in one day. As they say, “the eyes are afraid, but the hands do!”

I will share with you my plan, which I developed when I was studying labbooking in the USA, specifically for creating a lapbook with my own hands. If you make lapbooks using this plan, you will see that there is nothing difficult about it.

So, the plan...

  1. Subject.

At the very beginning of the work, you need to decide on the topic of the future laptop and come up with a name for it.

Moreover, the topic and title may differ!

For example, if you want to study the topic “house”, then it is better to choose something intriguing. Let's say, “a magical house for a princess!” or something like that. This way we can immediately arouse the child’s interest and attract his attention.

Let me remind you again: it is extremely important that the topic of your lapbook is interesting to the person for whom you are making it!

Any parent always knows what interests his child. And teachers and educators can conduct a survey among children. You can learn more about how to choose the right theme in the article “Themes for Lapbooks.”

Remember: an incorrectly chosen topic can completely discourage a child from making a lapbook.

  1. Subtopics.

The next step is to write down all the subtopics that you would like to include in the lapbook.

Let's look at it with an example.

Let's say you want to create a lapbook with the theme "farm". What subtopics can be included there?

Animals on the farm, their babies, plants in the garden, berries, fruits, vegetables and so on.

Be sure to consider the gender of the child. Let's say, for a boy it would be good to consider transport: a tractor, a combine harvester and the like...

You need to brainstorm: sit down and write down on a piece of paper all the subtopics that may relate to the topic under consideration.

  1. Sources related to subtopics.

These can be songs, books, poems, fairy tales, cartoons, in a word, absolutely anything. Everything related to the material of your future laptop.

It will also be good to use board games: you can read more about this in the article “ Board games for a laptop."

It is very good to use video clips. It will be useful to create a folder on your computer and collect all the material there.

If possible, you can go to the library with your child and choose books on the topics you have studied.

  1. Cover.

The cover may be different types: regular, double, curly... You definitely need to decide what the cover of the lapbook will look like - this will help a lot.

It happens that you start with a regular cover, and in the process of creation you add more and more new elements. And gradually, step by step, the cover grows and increases in size.

We discuss the cover topic in more detail in the article “Lapbook Covers.”

  1. Lapbook templates.

You can use ready-made templates for your laptop. You can create them yourself. You can take empty templates and enter what you need.

If you are creating a lapbook with your child, then it is better to prepare the template in advance and put it on the table so that you can see it and use it as needed.

You can watch how to make templates for a lapbook yourself on our YouTube channel.

  1. Pictures.

You need to select pictures - this is a very important part!

Lapbooks are mostly pictures: there are very few words and little text. But there are a lot of pictures there :)

It is the pictures that attract children; visualization of the material that needs to be learned.

The textbooks contain a lot of theory, they are ugly and do not promote imaginative thinking, which is so developed in children. They have a lot of text that looks boring and uninteresting. Therefore, textbooks do not inspire children. And that is precisely why they are inspired by laptops - they have a lot of pictures.

Remember: pictures are very important!

You can download them on the Internet, you can draw them with your own hands, you can use stencils...

  1. Filling out templates.

Now we just have to fill out the templates.

That is, we take pictures and paste them into templates. We take the material and insert it into a ready-made template.

After this, all that remains is to simply put the template itself into the cover - and we get a ready-made lapbook.

It’s so simple, really :)

I hope that after this step-by-step plan, lapbooking has stopped scaring you and now you will make a lapbook with your own hands for your child.

And finally: to help you, I have developed a planner that will help you make your future masterpieces. You can download it from the link below.

Don’t forget to watch the video instructions on how to fill it out :)

Good luck with your lapbooking!

Introduction

In order to meet modern requirements, teachers of a preschool educational organization need to constantly study, engage in self-education, and improve their level of professional competence. Thus, it is important for them to learn to adequately respond to ongoing changes in the field of education, be able to work in a team of like-minded people, competently and efficiently organize educational - educational work with students, effectively build partnerships with their parents to solve educational problems, independently select the content of education and adapt it taking into account age and individual characteristics children of a specific group, focusing on the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for preschool education.

In connection with the implementation of the Federal State Educational Standard for preschool education, every teacher is looking for new approaches and ideas in their teaching activities. So we began to study and use in our work a completely new, interesting, irreplaceable methodological manual– lapbook. It can be used both in kindergarten and at home. A laptop is interesting and useful because it is made jointly by an adult and children.

Relevance this topic is that a lapbook is an excellent way to consolidate and repeat project materials or theme week.

Target:

About introducing teachers to a new type of joint activity, creating a lapbook in kindergarten.

Tasks:

    Studying materials about laptops;

    Creating diagrams, pockets, choosing a theme, materials;

    Practical application in teaching activities

    Organization of exhibitions, master classes

    What is a lapbook?

Lapbook (lapbook) – literally translated from English means “knee book” (lap– knees, book- book). This is a small homemade folder that a child can conveniently lay out on his lap and look through everything at once.its contents. But, despite its apparent simplicity, it contains everything necessary materials on the topic.

Lapbook – a relatively new teaching tool.Americans were the first to create lapbooks.A laptop is a folding book with pockets, doors, windows, tabs and movable parts, in which materials on one topic are placed. This is a great way to reinforce a certain topic with schoolchildren and kids, comprehend the contents of the book, conduct research work, during which the child participates in searching, analyzing and sorting information.

Lapbook usually looks interactivea book in which information is presented in the form of opening windows, leaves that can be removed and unfolded, and other funny details. On the one hand, they are designed to attract the child’s interest in the folder itself. On the other hand, this is a great way to present all available information in a compact form.

    How to make a lapbook?

A laptop consists of an A3 folder into which pockets, folding books, windows and other details with visual information on the topic of the laptop are glued: from interesting games to vocabulary and a large amount of interestingly presented information.

To make a laptop you will need:

1. Printed laptop templates or draw a template yourself. For this, it is good to use colored paper for printers - then the folder will be colored and colorful;

2. A sheet of thick A3 paper or 2 sheets of A4 to make the folder itself. Any cardboard folder will do for this. Traditionally, laptop folders are made with double-leaf doors that open in opposite directions. They are very easy to make from thick paper.

After this, you need to stick sheets for the background onto the inside of the folder. We cover the outside of the cover with colored paper and decorate it at our discretion. For example, you can decorate a winter folder with snowflakes, and at the same time this will be the first task - to make snowflakes.

3. Scissors, glue stick, colored pencils, felt-tip pens, multi-colored pens, tape;

4. B limitless fantasy.

    The meaning and use of lapbooks in kindergarten.

Lapbookhelps the child organize information on the topic being studied at will and better understand and remember the material (especially if the child is visual). Adult visual learners will also enjoy this form of learning. This is a great way to review what you've learned. At any convenient time, the child simply opens the laptop and happily repeats what he has learned, looking at the book he made with his own hands. The laptop is well suited for classes in groups where children of different ages study at the same time.You can choose tasks that everyone can do (for kids - pockets with cards or animal figures, for example, and for older children - tasks that require the ability to write, etc.) and make such a collective book. Creating a lapbook is one of the types of joint activities between adults and children. Or it can also be a form of presenting the results of a project or a thematic week.In the futureThe child will learn to independently collect and organize information - good preparation for writing essays and term papers.

In the interactive thematic folder “Yakutia is our republic”, which we made together with the children, will store lesson materials about our Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

(Fig.1)

On the cover of our lapbook we pasted the coat of arms, the flag of our republic and Aal Luuk mas (Sacred Tree), symbolizing the folk epic Olonkho. (Fig.1)

This folder consists of 9 developmental elements. (Fig.2)

(Fig.2)

2). Accordion book “Trees and shrubs that grow in our republic.” Serves to enrich the child’s knowledge about the surrounding nature of his republic.

3). “Mineral resources of Yakutia.” Children talk about the mineral resources of the republic, where and how they are mined, what is made from them, etc. We placed the children's schematic drawings in an envelope in the shape of a hexagon using the origami technique.

In the center of the folder are photographs of the president of the republic, E.A. Borisov. and the capital is the city of Yakutsk.

4). “Coats of arms of regions and cities of the republic”, cards are placed in an envelope. Children should know the coat of arms of their district, capital and other cities of Yakutia. What is this or that city (district) famous for?

5). The educational element “Yakut ornament” will help the child not only name patterns correctly, but also prepare for writing. Children draw patterns based on the model.

6). Mini-book “Riddles in verse” for guessing riddles about wild animals of Yakutia. It is designed to train memory and intelligence. Each page contains a riddle with answer pictures (8 riddles).

7). Pictures “What is our republic famous for?” We have the most severe frosts, long winter, “pole of cold”, Yakut horse that is not afraid of severe frosts, musical instrument “Khomus”, round dance “Osuokhai”. A story based on pictures is a task for the development of coherent speech.

8) “Map of Yakutia”, which we took from the children's magazine “Chuoraanchyk”. Children must find their district (city), what is written on the coat of arms? What is the area famous for? For example, the task is “Find the city where your brother studies.”

9). “Dishes made of wood and birch bark” - what and how are Yakut dishes made of? What did you decorate with? What are they for? The child can draw by himself.

Conclusion

Our little folding book contained a lot of information in a very attractive and interesting form. But everyone can do it in their own way, and most importantly, together with the children. Children treat the product of their creativity very carefully and proudly tell and show it.

Implementation of our project“Lapbook as a type of joint activity between adults and children” includes three stages:

- at the preparatory stage teachers studied materials about lapbooks from the methodological magazine “Preschool Education”, from the website “This is Interesting!” (tavika.ru);

- main stage - this is the creation of a lapbook “Yakutia is our republic”, which consists of 9 developmental elements.

- at the final At this stage we plan to organize an exhibition of joint works of teachers, parents and children on various topics. For example, “Seasons”, “Our Family”, etc.

Conducted a master class at the regional competition of pedagogical skills “Senior Teacher -2015” on the topic “Lapbook”, which was of great interest to teachers in the region.

Thus, during the implementation of this project it was possible o introduce teachers to a new type of joint activity, make a lapbook in kindergarten “Yakutia is our republic”.

Such an unusual presentation of material is sure to attract attracts the child’s attention, and he will return to this folder more than once to look through it, play with it, and at the same time, unbeknownst to himself, repeat the material he has covered.

What is a lapbook?

Essentially, a lapbook is a folder or mini-book in which knowledge on a certain topic is systematized. Topics can be both broad (“Mathematics”, “Weather”, “Sports”) and narrow (“Cats”, “Snow”, “Apples”). This book has many pockets and envelopes containing the necessary systematic material (including illustrative ones) for studying and consolidating knowledge on the topic.

Lapbooks help you quickly and effectively learn new information and consolidate what you have learned in an entertaining and playful way. These thematic manuals have a bright design, a clear structure and, ideally, are developed specifically for a specific child with his level of knowledge. “Collective” thematic folders – lapbooks in kindergartens and schools – made by educators and teachers are also common.

The optimal age for a child to start learning with thematic folders is 5 years. The ideal option for making a thematic folder is together with the child, then he remembers the information in the process of creating a lapbook. While working with thematic material, the child conducts observations, completes tasks, studies and consolidates information. Subsequently, having a ready-made thematic folder at hand, the child can refresh his knowledge on a particular topic.

Lapbook - the final result collaboration with children on one topic or another. Its production should be preceded by thematic activities and games, discussion and discussion complex issues, completing tasks. In this case, the child will be ready to make a thematic folder with you, and it will really fulfill its role as a reinforcing, systematizing didactic and gaming aid.

Varieties of thematic folders

Depending on the purpose:

  • educational;
  • gaming;
  • congratulatory, holiday;
  • autobiographical (a folder-report about some important event in the child’s life: travel, going to the circus, vacation time, etc.)

Depending on the shape:

  • standard book with two spreads;
  • folder with 3-5 spreads;
  • accordion book;
  • curly folder.

Organization of material:

  • standard pockets;
  • regular and figured envelopes;
  • accordion pockets;
  • book pockets;
  • windows and doors;
  • rotating parts;
  • protruding parts;
  • cards;
  • tags;
  • arrows;
  • puzzles;
  • blank sheets for notes, etc.

How to make a lapbook with your own hands?

The process of making a lapbook is incredibly exciting. To do this you will need the following materials:

  • base cardboard (cardboard folder or sheet of thick A3 paper);
  • paper (white, colored, scrapbooking paper with various colors and textures);
  • printer and/or pens, pencils, markers, paints;
  • regular and curly scissors;
  • glue and/or tape;
  • stapler;
  • decorative elements as needed (buttons, sequins, brads, pendants, paper clips, dried leaves, stickers, themed pictures cut out from magazines, etc.)

Ready-made thematic templates for lapbooks and pockets for them, which can be downloaded for free or for a nominal fee on the Internet - best option for beginners. However, you can try to do something of your own, original. Believe me, it’s not that difficult – the main thing is to start and get carried away by the process.

Decide on the theme of your folder. If you are making a lapbook for preschoolers, then the topics and materials for them should be elementary; for schoolchildren, you can choose more complex material. In addition, if you are making a lapbook not for a group, but for one child, do not forget to focus on it: what topics need to be studied or reinforced, how advanced the child is in a particular topic. Consult with your child on what topic he would like to select material and make a folder on.

Create the base of a thematic folder. There are three main options: basic, basic with the addition of 1-2 extensions, and double basic. The production of such bases is shown in detail in the pictures:

Basic version of the basis for a laptop
Basic version of the base with extensions
Double basic version of the laptop base

Plan what information your folder will contain on the chosen topic. Draw several approximate layouts on a simple sheet or in Word (Paint or a design program), choose the best option for placing the necessary information. Think about what your pockets (subtopics) will look like and how the information will be organized in them. Now you can start making your laptop. At this stage, the child can join in the activity.

Study according to the thematic folder gradually: one lesson - one task. Find a convenient place to store the materials you make. Interesting ideas for you and fruitful joint activities with children!

Project “LAPBUK” as a modern means of teaching for preschool age.

“It’s a miracle - I open the folder, I remember everything I know.” “Zimushka-winter”

Description: This publication will be useful to preschool teachers.

Formation problem cognitive activity children of preschool age is very relevant in our time. Research shows a significant decline in children's cognitive activity. Children have an insufficiently developed need for independent knowledge of the surrounding reality. By focusing on the child’s conscious search activity and productive thinking, purposefully directing them to achieve certain cognitive tasks, it is possible to achieve the expected positive results in any type of activity.

Developmental pedagogy based on the requirements of the federal state educational standard for preschool education, significantly changed the approach to organizing educational activities in a preschool educational organization. Today, the state has set the task of preparing a completely new generation: active, inquisitive. To the modern child It is necessary not so much to know a lot as to think consistently and convincingly, and show mental effort. The content and methods of teaching preschoolers are aimed at developing attention, memory, creative imagination, developing the ability to compare, highlight the characteristic properties of objects, generalize according to a certain criterion, and receive satisfaction from the solution found. When a child acts with objects himself, he understands the world around him better, so priority in working with children should be given to practical teaching methods.

In this regard, we teachers are faced with the task of finding new non-standard forms of interaction with students. Traditional education is being replaced by productive learning, which is aimed at developing creative abilities and developing interest in creative activities in preschoolers.

Project object: Modern means teaching preschool children.

Project subject: Using LAPBUK in the process of teaching preschool children.

Relevance This topic is that LAPBUK is an excellent way to consolidate and repeat materials from a project or thematic week.

Hypothesis: It can be assumed that increasing the cognitive activity of preschool children is possible if the following conditions are met: the systematic use of LAPBUK in educational activities, free access to LAPBUK for children, the formation of a sustainable interest in preschoolers for the creation and use of LAPBUK.

Project goal:

Studying the possibilities of using LAPBOOK as a means of teaching preschool children.

To achieve this goal it is necessary to decide the following tasks:

  1. Study scientifically - methodological literature and other information sources on the topic of the project.
  2. Expand the concept of a learning tool for preschool children.
  3. Creation of a LAPTOP in kindergarten, practical application in teaching activities.

“What is a LAPBUK?”

One of the promising methods that help solve this problem, which I began to study and apply in my work, is a new form of working with children - “LEPBOOK”.

"LAPBUK" is a relatively new phenomenon of modern reality. Literally translated from English (lapbook) means “knee book” (lap - knees, book - book). Currently, it is widely used in kindergartens and schools in America. “LAPBUK” is a thematic folder, a folding book, in which materials are collected on one specific topic. On the pages of the folder there are various pockets, windows, mini-folding books, accordions, and pull-out elements containing didactic material.

"LEPBOOK" is a universal manual that can be the result of project and independent activities, a thematic week provided for by the main educational program of a preschool educational organization. Can be used to implement any of educational areas, ensuring their integration.

By combining teaching and upbringing into a holistic educational process, LEPBUK allows the teacher to build activities based on the individual characteristics of each child. The use of "LAPBUK" ensures equality of opportunity and the full development of every child.

The educational function of the "LAPBUK" is that it can be made with children and their parents.

The folder should be colorful and aesthetically designed, all components should be convenient and understandable for a child to use independently. Working with a “LAPBUK” is an excellent way to reinforce a certain topic with children, allows them to comprehend the content, as well as conduct research work, during which the child participates in searching, analyzing and sorting information.

Thus, we can say that LAPBUK is a collective image of a poster, book and handouts, which is aimed at developing creative potential in pupils, children's initiative, which teaches them to think and act within a given topic, expanding not only their horizons, but also developing skills and skills necessary to overcome difficulties and solve the problem. One of the advantages of this work is the fact that the work on creating a LAPBUK can be either individual, paired or group.

"LAPBUK" as a form of work is attractive because:

  1. The creation of "LAPBUK" develops creativity children, their imagination.
  2. "LAPBUK" helps the child to organize information on the topic being studied at will, as well as to better understand and remember the material covered.
  3. "LAPBUK" is well suited for classes in groups of different ages. You can choose tasks whose difficulty is adjusted according to age.
  4. This is a great way to review what you've learned. At any time, the child simply opens a “LAPBUK” on the desired topic and repeats the material.

Stage of creating a “LAP BOOK”:

  1. Selecting a topic.
  2. Drawing up a plan for the future “LAPBUK” - it is necessary to decide on the elements and subtopics.
  3. Drawing the layout. – this is necessary for further registration of the “LAP BOOK”
  4. Decoration.

How to make a LAPTOP?

Everything is suitable for working on a LAPTOP: and colored paper, colored printer paper, both cut-out and self-drawn pictures, handwritten and printed texts.

This requires imagination and a variety of materials.

So, to make a LAPTOP we need some kind of thick material or cardboard.

You need to take a sheet of cardboard, bend it into several parts, give it the shape of a book or a cabinet, and the doors can be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. If necessary, cover with paper or self-adhesive film.

Make different pockets of different shapes and sizes.

Each pocket contains a game or a set of materials on the topic

Make games aimed at developing cognitive interests depending on the topic of the LAPBUK.

"LAPBUK"

Topic: “Winter-winter”.

I present to your attention my laptop on the topic: “Zimushka - winter”. This is not just a picture book. This training manual. This is an interactive folder that has a lot of advantages. LAPBOOK translated from English. means “Knee book” LAP - knees, BOOK - book.

This is a homemade folder that a child can lay out on his lap.

The LAPBUK helps to consolidate and systematize the material studied, and reviewing the LAPBUK in the future will allow you to quickly refresh your memory of the material covered.

TARGET: Creating a folder consists of

  • Reinforce the signs of the season with children.
  • Strengthen children's knowledge of the topic of the week in accordance with the educational program kindergarten and teacher work programs.
  • Expand and consolidate children's knowledge about wild animals, birds, and how they prepare for the winter.
  • Promote the development of memory and thinking through games and exercises.
  • To develop the ability to see and feel the beauty of nature, admire it, and the desire to preserve it.
  • Develop fine motor skills.
  • Cultivate love for the world around us.
  • It is individual, pair and group in nature when working with children, designed for children of the second youngest group.

My “LAPBUK” included the following elements:

  • Nature calendar, signs of winter, winter signs;
  • An envelope with the image of “migratory birds”, “what to treat birds in winter?”, “What animals hibernate?”;
  • Envelope “Winter clothes”.
  • Envelopes: “Winter poems”, “proverbs and sayings”, “riddles about winter”, “rhymes”.
  • Didactic games: “Whose footprints?”, “Whose tail?”, “find the shadow”, “Collect a picture”, “Find the same one”.
  • Envelope with pictures: " Winter fun"," Paintings by artists about winter."
  • Pocket with finger games about winter, winter sports. Pocket with outdoor games - winter theme.

After manufacturing all the elements, a layout was created, and a decision was made on the location of all parts of the “LAPBUK”.

My flip book contained a lot of information in a very attractive and interesting way. But everyone can do it in their own way, and most importantly, together with the children. Children treat the creative product very carefully and show interest.

Such an unusual presentation of the material will certainly attract the child’s attention, and he will return to this folder again to look through it, play with it, and at the same time, unnoticed by himself, repeat the material he has covered.

This is what I got!

We continue our conversation about what you will need if you decide to make a lapbook with your own hands.

In the previous article, I talked about the basic materials for creating lapbooks. Now we will look at those additional materials that are not mandatory, but can greatly facilitate the process of creating a lapbook. And, therefore, they will help make your activities with your child more interesting and fun.

Paper clips

Paper clips are necessary to secure elements such as “accordions” so that when unfolding the laptop they do not fall out or become wrinkled.

It will be great if you buy colored curly paper clips. They can be found in stationery stores, as well as in the Fixprice store.

By the way, this store has a lot of different things that you can use and which I will talk about below. Go with your child and choose everything you need. Many people simply don’t pay attention to the stationery section, but that’s where you’ll find everything you need.

Decorative tape

This is a wonderful tool for decorating the cover and various elements in a lapbook. Using this material my daughter learned to measure. This tape can be purchased at office supply and hobby stores. You will also find this material in “FixPrice”.

Hole puncher

Hole punchers come in regular and shaped types. You will need a regular hole punch if, for example, you want to attach ribbons to the cover - in this case, you can tie the lapbook like a folder.

With the help of a shaped hole punch, you can decorate your lapbook, as well as make various additional elements for it. By the way, children are simply delighted with such hole punches.

Paper cutting knife

When creating my lapbooks, I use a lot of these elements where you need to make various slits in the middle. To keep the elements neat, a stationery knife is simply a lifesaver.

If you do not have such a knife, then you can replace it with sharp-edged nail scissors. But, in the future, it is better to buy a knife.

You can take a regular stationery knife. It's not as convenient, but it's accessible. Such a knife can be found in almost any modern apartment.

The blade of this knife can be easily removed and replaced with a new one, if necessary.

Naturally, you will be working with this knife, not the child. Do not give such a knife into the hands of a child - it is dangerous.

You will also need some kind of hard surface to cut on. It can be an ordinary board.

Stamps

Stamps are convenient to use to decorate the cover and elements of a lapbook. Nowadays there is a very large selection in stores and you can choose a stamp according to the theme you need. Children simply adore them.

Air markers

You can decorate your laptop very beautifully with air felt-tip pens. Air markers create a splashing or spraying effect.

Previously, you had to use a comb and a toothbrush, which is quite inconvenient for children. Now civilization has come to us and every child, starting from three years, can take advantage of this miracle remedy.

Any materials for scrapbooking

If you have been involved in scrapbooking, then you will find something similar in lapbooking. And, of course, all scrapbooking materials can be brought into your lapbooks. I believe that lapbooking is the same scrapbooking, only with elements of learning.

If you haven’t done scrapbooking and don’t know what it is, then you can just go to the scrapbooking department and choose interesting things for the topic on which you decided to make your lapbook.

These can be various buttons, ribbons, cards, pictures, paper, etc. By the way, you can also find figured hole punches, a paper cutting knife and decorative tape there.

The only point: scrapbooking is not a cheap pleasure. If you are making your first lapbook, it will be better if you start with basic materials.

Patterned paper

Various elements for a lapbook can be made not only from plain colored paper, but also from paper with various designs.

Origami or scrapbooking paper is suitable for this. It looks very impressive (example in the photo below). It feels like you bought it in a store rather than making it yourself.

Paper folder

Typically, the creation of an educational lapbook takes several days, and sometimes weeks. To ensure that no items get lost or wrinkled, you will need a storage folder. Any folder with a button or zipper will do - choose to suit your taste.

Velcro tape

I like to include a variety of games in my lapbooks and use Velcro tape on some of the pieces to make things easy to attach and remove. In order to glue this tape you will need superglue.

Curly scissors

Using curly scissors will allow you to cut beautiful lands in various elements. Even the edges of the cover can be made with curly scissors.

These are the additional materials you can use when you get ready to make with my own hands your handsome lapbook. These are my favorite materials and I use all of them when creating my lapbooks.

I'm sure that if you already create your own lapbooks, you also have your favorite materials that you use. It will be great if you share your ideas with me. Please write in the comments what materials you use; how do you create your lapbooks... I will be very pleased.
