Based on the photos, following the comments to them and using white thread, embroider a snowflake in the center of the potholder. It is advisable to do embroidery thin thread. If you don't have yarn of a suitable thickness on hand, you can split the thick thread.

Fasten the thread to the wrong side of the potholder and pull it through the center of the workpiece. Perform a large stitch - insert the needle between the 8th and 9th rows and bring it out in the center. Sew 5 more stitches in the same manner, distributing them evenly around the circle.

Then bring the needle in the center of one of the stitches (between the 4th and 5th rows) and embroider a hexagon, guided by the photo (three stitches must be done clockwise and three more counterclockwise, as a result the figure will be closed).

Bring the thread at the top of one of the “rays” of the snowflake and make a stitch in the continuation of the “ray” by inserting the needle between the 15th and 16th rows and bringing it out at the base of the stitch.

Make two slanted stitches on one side of the beam, then symmetrically two stitches on the other side. Pull the needle out, guided by the photo, and make one more inclined stitch on each side of the “beam”.

Embroider the remaining “rays” of the snowflake in the same way.

Using green thread, sew a zigzag line, placing it between the 17th and 22nd rows (on top of the tack section made with white yarn).

Using red thread in two folds, embroider a “path” of small stitches between the 20th and 21st rows of the potholder.

Fastening the ball (“cap” with a loop)

Cast on yarn gray 18 air loops. Close the chain into a ring using a connecting stitch, cast on 1 chain stitch and knit in the round.

Rounds 1-5: 18 RLS, SS, 1 VP;

Round 6: (1 RLS, PR, 1 RLS) – repeat 6 times (24 sts), SS;

Round 7: (skip a stitch, do 5 half double crochets in the next stitch, skip a stitch, sl st) – repeat 6 times.

Cut the thread, leaving a long end.

Sew up the hole at the top of the cap.

Make a twisted cord. To do this, take a piece of green thread 55-60 cm long. Tie a knot at each end of the piece (for convenience) and, holding one end of the thread in your left hand, twist the second end of the thread clockwise with the fingers of your right hand until the thread It won't curl too much on its own if you release the tension. Bend the cord in the center, matching the ends. Let the thread twist, secure the ends of the cord with a knot.

Pass the cord through the top of the “cap”, following the photo as a guide.

Connect the ends of the cord, tie them in a knot and trim the yarn.

Sew the fastening with a loop to the ball by placing the edge of the base of the potholder inside the part and piercing three sheets with a needle at once - the front side of the “cap,” the edge of the ball and the back of the “cap.”

Iron the potholder through a damp cloth.

Thank you for your interest in my work!

I wish you pleasant and exciting work on potholders!
