How to properly cook young corn?

Boiling young corn is a fairly simple procedure. You need to take a large, convenient saucepan, pour water into it and put it on the fire.

The corn must be thoroughly cleaned of leaves and placed in boiling water. To make the grains not only juicy, but also aromatic, you can add a few leaves to the water. Cook the corn until tender for 20-25 minutes over medium heat, so that the water constantly boils - since the grains contain a fairly large amount of starch, so that the sweetness does not disappear, you need to maintain the same temperature.

Checking the readiness of the grains is very simple - if there is no taste of corn, and the grains have become soft and tender, the cobs can be removed from the water and served. It is important to remember that it is not advisable to salt corn during cooking - this can cause the grains to become hard.

Depending on which program you choose, it will depend on how long the young corn will be cooked. If you want to cook the corn at a pre-planned time, fill it with cold water and set the time. If you are going to cook right away, then for young corn it will be enough to set it to Cook for 20 minutes. If your multicooker does not have this mode, you can turn on the Steaming or Stewing mode.

Fill the corn with cold water and close the lid tightly - there is no need to salt the water, as the salt takes away all the excess liquid from the grains and they will become harder.

The multicooker always comes with a steaming bowl. The bowl is not very large, so 2-3 cobs will fit in it. To make more, cut each cob into several pieces.

The corn will be more flavorful if you brush it with a mixture of oil and herbs before cooking.

Wash the greens, shake off excess liquid and finely chop with a sharp knife. Mix chopped herbs with vegetable oil and rub the pieces of corn well with this mixture. You can use vegetable oil or butter - to taste.

Place the prepared corn on a wire rack with holes and place it on top of the lower bowl. Don't forget to pour some water into the main bowl - 1 liter will be enough.

If you want to cook corn in two bowls at the same time, you should note that the time will need to be increased slightly - by 5-7 minutes.
