Beer croutons with garlic

Crispy crackers are one of the most popular beer snacks. But due to preservatives and flavoring additives, store-bought options can be hazardous to health. Therefore, it is better to prepare crackers at home from natural ingredients. This is very easy to do, and the whole process takes a maximum of 30-40 minutes. I suggest you familiarize yourself with several popular recipes that have been tested in practice.

To make croutons for beer, we need fresh or slightly stale bread without mold or an untidy smell. Each piece should be more than 1 cm thick, otherwise the crackers will not cook well and will not be crispy. The shape of the slices does not matter, but they are usually made square or oblong, reminiscent of store-bought ones.

Recipe for simple croutons for beer

Ingredients:

  • bread (white or black) – 1 loaf;
  • salt – 1 teaspoon;
  • vegetable oil – 3-4 tablespoons;
  • herbs and spices - to taste (optional).

As spices, you can add ground red pepper, parsley, dill, garlic, or store-bought seasonings sold in bags. Another option is to make simple salty crackers for beer, which will not interrupt the taste of the foamy drink.

Preparation:

1. Cut the stale bread into small slices.

2. Add vegetable oil, salt, selected spices and herbs, mix.

3. Pour the seasoned butter into a plastic bag, and add the crackers there. Inflate the bag halfway, twist the top and shake until the crackers absorb the oil.

4. Heat the oven to 200°C.

5. Spread the seasoned pieces into an even layer on the baking sheet and place them in the oven.

6. Dry to the desired condition, stirring occasionally. Cooking time depends on the oven, but usually takes up to 30 minutes. After cooling, the crackers are ready to serve.

4. Pour the finished hot crackers into a deep bowl, pour in the oil and stir quickly. At the final stage, add salt to taste.

You can also make tomato sauce for the crackers. To do this, dilute 1 tablespoon of tomato paste in 100 ml of water, add 3 squeezed cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and salt. Ready-made croutons are simply dipped into the resulting sauce and eaten with beer.
